Category 2 cyclone 'intensifying'

Update: 12:04PM TROPICAL Cyclone Lusi was located about 730kilometres west of Nadi at 9am today.

Fiji Meteorology Services director Alipate Waqaicelua saysTC Lusi is currently moving east southeast at 15km per hour.

"TC Lusi is currently a category two cyclone with 55 knots close to the centre, he said.

"It is intensifying and expected to reach category three hurricane by this evening. On its track, TC Lusi is anticipated to be closest to Fiji through Thursday, within 400km or so to the west of Nadi."
