POLICE teams yesterday continued their search for two women and a girl missing in Kadavu waters.

Corporal Moape Dau of Kadavu Police Station confirmed the trio from Tiliva Village had left Tiliva Resort on a kayak to go fishing.

Corporal Dau said the group set off around 9am on Saturday and the villagers found the kayak around 5pm minus its occupants.

He said the police were notified at 9pm on Saturday and a search was mounted; it continued until early yesterday morning.

The search was called off about 3am and resumed at first light.

"As we speak, the three are still missing," Corporal Dau said.

"The villagers have joined the police search teams in looking for the three people.

"When the kayak was spotted, the fishing equipment was in the boat but the three people were missing."

Missing are a 43-year-old woman, a 10-year-old girl and a 33-year-old woman.
