SOME new players are likely to force their way into the Lautoka squad after impressing at a friendly 10s tournament at the Nadovu Park yesterday.

Lautoka Rugby Union executives were forced to turn the 10s tournament into a friendly affair after only a few teams turned up.

Union secretary Salesi Vulakoro said the Maroons would resume training tomorrow afternoon.

Vulakoro said the aim was to improve this year.

"Majority of the teams opted to play in the Lomavata 7s," he said.

"So the teams that turned up played a few games.

"Some players impressed the selectors and they will be drafted into the squad."

Lautoka finished seventh in the Digicel Cup competition last year.
