NEW Zealand-based former national golf rep Indra Warjan is back in the country to boost the sport by hosting the Western Open Championship at the Ba Golf Club on Sunday.

The two-time Fiji amateur champion will be one of the top seeds for the 18 holes stroke event.

His son Shiva who has a handicap of five will also participate in the tournament.

Club treasurer Rajeshwar Prasad said Indra had a lot of wonderful memories playing at the Rarawai course.

Prasad said the golfer had not forgotten his roots.

"It is always nice to have the former members contribute to the sport when on holiday here," he said.
