Drivers cautioned

Luke Rawalai
Saturday, March 08, 2014

THE Fiji Roads Authority has advised drivers to exercise extra caution on the Dreketi-Nabouwalu and the Buca Bay highways on Vanua Levu.

Authority CEO Neil Cook said both roads would be slippery during the wet weather conditions.

He urged commuters to use sound judgement if they had to travel.

"A few roads were closed yesterday in the North but they are up and in operation again today (yesterday)," he said.

"We advise people to continue monitoring the weather and listen to the latest radio weather updates before making decisions about travelling during this weather.

"There are sections of the roads along the Dreketi-Nabouwalu and the Buca Bay highway that will deteriorate during this weather and we advise drivers to be cautious."
