Coral reef farms

Jone Kalouniviti
Friday, March 07, 2014

THE village of Marou on Naviti Island in the Yasawa Group is eagerly awaiting the formalisation of the coral reef farming project scheduled for this month

Villager Ropate Naisau said a team from coral exporter Walt Smith International would be at the island from March 12 to train villagers and also look into an agreement to be signed by the company and the village.

"The initial stage of coral planting has started slowly, but we have yet to seal anything formally," said Mr Naisau.

"This will be done during the March 12 visit."
