Update: 5:06PM ROOTCROPS have been uprooted, evacuation centres identified and meetings held on Cikobia Island as the villagers prepare for the depression that is expected to hit the North tonight.

Akuila Dulukorewa said men have uprooted root crops and stored food for their families.

Village headmen of Nalele and Vuninuku have met with the villagers to inform them about evacuation plans.

The headmen have asked the villagers to keep listening to the radio for weather warnings and take action when necessary he said.

We have been asked to store water and food for the bad weather.
