Friday, February 28, 2014

Update: 3:23PM THE commencement date of two shipping decrees have been deferred.

The Maritime Transport Decree 2013 and the Ship Registration Decree 2013 which were scheduled to come into force next week have been moved to September.

The announcement comes after Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji and the Ministry of Works, Transport and Public Utilities received numerous requests from stakeholders for the extension.

Permanent secretary Commander Francis Kean says this will enable MSAF to consult more with its stakeholders.
