Chandra wins opening golf event in Ba

ROHIT Chandra lived up to expectation by winning the General Machinery-sponsored 18 holes season opening event at the Ba Golf Club last Sunday.

The Fiji National University student was in fine form scoring 72 to take out the overall gross title.

Sunil Sharma claimed the overall nett with a score of 67.

Vishwa Nadan won the A grade nett. Nadan scored 70 and hit the longest drive. Ravendra Kumar was second with 75 nett while S Daniel was third with 81 nett.

Club treasurer Rajeshwar Prasad won the B grade nett with a score of 70. Nicky Thain was second with 73 nett. Thain also won the nearest to the pin prize.

John Reuben claimed the third spot ahead of Pradeep Chandra on a countback after both players scored 81 nett.

Ashween Singh won the C grade nett with a score of 67. Bineshwar claimed the second spot after a countback from Alvin Singh. They both scored 72 nett.

More than 30 golfers participated in the competition.
