Facilities stay open

HEALTH facilities will remain open where possible during this spell of wet weather in certain parts of the country.

The Emergency Operation Centre has also been activated where officials at the health headquarters worked on eight-hour shifts yesterday, and to be reviewed this morning.

A Ministry of Information statement sent last night said the Navua Hospital would only open for emergency cases.

However, it said a temporary clinic had been set up on the hospital's second floor and manned by health officials on a 12-hour shift.

The Health Ministry stated contingency plans had been activated at hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals and health centers within the Central, Eastern and Northern divisions.
