Troops put on flood standby

Update: 4:34PM FIFTY per cent of soldiers around the country are on standby as flood waters continue to rise in some parts of the country.

RFMF chief operations officer Lieutenant Colonel Amani Suliano says they are on standby awaiting call from the National Disaster Management office.

"It's not only officers from the Central Division but those from the west and north and we will await the NDMOs call for assistance," he said.
