Villagers told to be ready

Salaseini Moceiwai
Thursday, February 27, 2014

OFFICIALS from the Cakaudrove Provincial Council office have visited villages and communities reminding people to be proactive in preparing for the expected cyclone.

Roko tui Cakaudrove Bulutani Mataitawakilai said the visits were arranged following the cyclone warning.

"The officials started their community outreach early this week and will continue next week," he said.

"We are aiming to visit all villages in the province so every villager is informed about disaster management. We have also collected data on evacuation centres used by people in the past during cyclones."
