Category one warning

Update: 1:33PM DIRECTOR of the Fiji Meteorological Service Alipate Waqaicelua says the low depression that will affect the country this week could develop into a category one tropical cyclone.

A tropical cyclone is serious business and at this stage we are looking at this system developing into a category one storm.

People are being urged to take heed of all warnings issued by the authorities and people living in low lying and coastal areas to be prepared for flash floods and sea swells.
