THE picture told the story.

That was the judges' comment on Ivamere Rokovesa's winning picture that earned her the Photographer of the Year award at the 2013 Fiji Sports Awards on Friday night.

Rokovesa joined The Fiji Times as a photographer in 2009. She has nine years of experience in the field. This was her first major award.

"This was the first time I submitted my nomination for the award and I'm happy to have won it.

"I thank the judges, my workmates, my family, my husband and my two girls for their support."
