TOUGH forward Ovini Tuidraki was the toast of the ANCF 7s team in their 33-0 win over Volivolitakelo at the final of the Turtle Vodafone Nacula 7s in Yasawa yesterday.

Tuidraki, who was named the tournament's best player, led by example and helped his team destroy their opponents.

The Waya, native combined well with his teammates displaying wonderful rugby skills that caught their opponents on the backfoot.

He combined well with nippy playmaker Sairusi Mati who also scored two tries in the final.

Tuidraki said the win inspired him to chase his dream and to secure a spot in the national 7s team.

"I thank the Almighty Lord for giving me the power to help my teammates win the main award," he said.

"The win today has given me the courage to keep playing better and fulfil my rugby goal."

National 7s coach Ben Ryan was impressed with the talent on display during the two-day tournament although there were areas that needed to be addressed at grassroots level.

"I really enjoyed the tournament, especially the passion showed by the players," said Ryan.

"I also enjoyed the environment and hospitality of the locals, something I never came across while in England.

"I thank the organisers for a well-organised tournament."

Ryan said he had also identified few players who would be monitored in future tournaments.

Coral View defeated Nalauwaki 17-5 to win the Bowl while Nalovo thumped Yasawa-i-rara 31-0 to win the plate.

Naisisili was crowned the netball winners after beating Nacula in the final.
