Youths a priority

EMPOWERING 36 per cent of the youth population in Ra is one of the key objectives of the provincial office.

And according to provincial administrator Kelepi Kubunameca, the assistance of a $15,000 fishing boat with an engine to a rural youth group is proof of their decision to continue their support for the young people of the district.

He said there were plans to broaden the activities that young people in Ra participate in, such as the setting up of a youth band.

"This can open up career opportunities for the young people in the tourism sector, police and military and even in churches," he said.

"The band will be a way for young people to upskill themselves."

Mr Kubunameca said one of his priorities are the young people.
