Marina helps out

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

THE Vuda Marina in Lautoka has joined the fight against dengue, organising a spraying campaign at Viseisei Village and nearby communities.

Marina general manager Adam Wade said they were prompted by reports on the increasing number of cases.

"We have contacted village elders and officials from the school for permission to conduct the spraying and we have been given the go-ahead to start spraying," he said.

Mr Wade said a mosquito fogger would be used in the spraying exercise.

"When we read about the number of people that had been diagnosed with dengue fever, we knew we could help out the Vuda community and put the fogger to a good use. It will take a few hours to cover the whole area.

"The spraying will be conducted by marina employees and we will also be focussing on Navatau settlement where most of our employees reside."
