ALL-ROUNDER Tomasi Cagi starred for Nakavu One in their massive 40-run victory against Danam Fiji in the Lautoka Cricket Association club competition at the Central College ground on Saturday.

Cagi was on fire with both bat and ball to claim the man of the match award.

Danam won the toss and sent Nakavu One to bat in the Twenty20 fixture.

Cagi top scored with 29 runs. Vilikesa Driu chipped in with 10 runs. Danam Fiji's on-field performance let them down as they conceded 25 sundries.

Hemantha was the best bowler for Danam Fiji taking four wickets. Pawan Patel and Malinda collected two wickets each.

Nakavu One was all out for 102 runs.

In reply, Danam Fiji was all out for 62 runs. Malinda scored 25 runs. Cagi did the damage claiming five wickets. Alipate Driu and Vilikesa Driu shared two wickets each.

With the win, Nakavu One remains the only unbeaten team in the competition.

In another match, Moce West hammered Lautoka Knights by 50 runs.

This is despite the gallant efforts of former Fiji Under-17 captain Ebrahim Cassim who played for the Knights.

Moce West won the toss and elected to bat. The side was all out for 123 runs. Peni Mataniniu scored 37 runs while Tunoa Salusalu scored 23 runs.

Cassim claimed three wickets while Lautoka Cricket Association events manager Rukesh Patel and Darshan Kapadia grabbed two each.

In reply, the Knights were all out for 73 runs. Cassim scored 51 runs, one of the highest in the competition so far.

Salusalu mesmerised the Knights batsmen with his bowling taking six wickets.

Naseqalau beat Nakavu Two by default.

Rukesh said Nakavu One had stamped their authority in the competition.

He said big wins were recorded by Nakavu One and Moce West on Saturday.
