Caution: Drive with extreme care

Salaseini Moceiwai
Sunday, February 16, 2014

MOTORISTS travelling along the upgraded Dreketi-Nabouwalu highway have been advised to drive with extreme caution following heavy rain experienced yesterday.

The weather condition resulted in the delay in roadworks along the highway.

The Fiji Times team travelled along the highway and witnessed only a few officials working.

Acting commissioner northern Alipate Bolalevu said it was prudent for motorists to drive carefully to avoid road mishaps.

"We are once again appealing to motorists to drive carefully and those pedestrians using this highway to be very cautious," he said.

"The weather is not in our favour and it's only wise if motorists take the first step and drive carefully,"

A weather bulletin report stated yesterday occasional showers and few thunderstorms were forecasted for Labasa.
