House fire claims a child's life

Update: 5:50PM A FIRE at Tivi Road in Kinoya today claimed the life of a child.

When The Fiji Times team arrived at the scene, NFA firefighters had managed to extinguish the blaze but were unable to save the child.

 

Witnesses said the fire was allegedly started when a flare - normally used by sea vessels in distress - was set off inside the house.

 

Police and NFA investigations into the fire are continuing.
