Saturday, February 15, 2014

MINISTER for Education Filipe Bole this week visited Newtown-based school Basden College to witness how shipping containers have been converted into classrooms for fifteen Year 13 students.

During his visit to the school, Mr Bole saw the students of the school's first Year 13 enjoying classes inside what used to be two shipping containers.

School principal Mika Mudreilagi and managing director for Hope Fiji Constructions Wade Evans took the minister for an inspection of the classrooms, the home economics rooms and the storage room that is nearing completion.

Mr Evans yesterday confirmed that students who wished to take up home economics classes could enter their new classroom next week.
