Vendors told to pay up or move out

THE LAUTOKA City Council is calling on market vendors to pay up stall fees or make way so others can move in.

On Wednesday, the council removed 15 tables used by vendors who owed up to two months in fees.

One cubicle costs between $2 and$4 per day, depending on size.

Council CEO Jone Nakauvadra said this was not the first time it had been forced to do this.

"We took this action last November but they continue to pile up their bills. It is only fair that they make way for others now."

Mr Nakauvadra said all who owed the council money were given enough time to pay up.
