Methodist Church appoints acting president

Update: 12:14PM REVEREND Laisiasa Ratabacaca is the new acting President of the Methodist Church in Fiji following the passing of former church President Tuikilakila Waqairatu on Tuesday morning.

He was elected at a meeting of the church's standing committee today.

As acting president, Mr Ratabacaca will preside over this year's annual conference, when a new president is expected to be elected, the church said in statement today.
