Bail denied for accused

A REMAND prisoner allegedly involved with those implicated in the theft of drugs from the High Court exhibit room in Suva has been denied bail again.

Feroz Khan, 53, is charged with a count of possession of illicit drugs.

Khan informed the court he had made an application for legal assistance from the Legal Aid Commission, after which the court deferred his plea.

On the issue of bail, the police prosecution objected, saying Khan had been previously convicted for absconding bail and that the current offence was serious.

Khan asked the court to reconsider his bail as he was finding it difficult being in remand because of his disability.
