Shareef closes 2013 Ba golf season in style

SHEIK Mohammed Shareef claimed the General Machinery-sponsored 2013 season closing event at the Ba Golf Club on Sunday.

Shareef who took up the sport in 2010, carded 75 to win the overall gross.

This was Shareef's second win at the Rarawai course.

He is also part of the national golf training squad

Shakti Singh won the A grade nett with a score of 68. Singh also won the nearest to the pin prize.

Suva-based Rohit Chandra was second.

He edged out national squad member Mohammed Faiyaz on a countback after both golfers scored 72 nett.

Rajesh Prasad won the B grade nett with a score of 69. Ashwin Prasad was second with 71 nett.

Sahil Singh was third. The 17 year old carded 72 nett.

Ravinesh Chand won the C grade. Chand scored 70 nett.

Sanjay Krishna was second with 70 nett while Binesh Prasad with third with 73 nett.

Chandra hit the longest drive.

More than 30 golfers participated in the 18 holes competition.
