Rara thrashes Barbarians in Naitasiri challenge

RARA is the new holder of the Naitasiri North Bulls challenge cup.

The side defeated Barbarians 28-0 in the challenge match at Naluwai ground on Saturday.

Rara was scheduled to play Senikau but the latter failed to turn up for the match.

Naitasiri North Bulls secretary John Kaisuva said they had six teams that turned up for the competition.

"One team didn't turn up. Altogether we have 24 teams registered with us but only 12 participate in the weekly club competition," he said.

"It's just the beginning of the season and we hope the number increases."

Kaisuva was impressed with the crowd turnout on Saturday.

He said about 700 fans turned out to witness the round three games.

Meanwhile Rara will defend the trophy against Navuakece this weekend.
