120 contractors help in work

Jone Kalouniviti
Saturday, February 08, 2014

ABOUT 120 contractors have been engaged in the Western Division over the past year to help build and repair houses under the cyclone rehabilitation program.

These include carpenters, plumbers and electricians.

Each group is given three to six days to deliver on a house once the material is supplied.

Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki said for every new house built, about $3000 was set aside for labour costs.

The materials have been sourced from hardware stores, mostly from RC Manubhai, Kasabia, Carpenters and Vinod Patel.
