Pair deny charge

Shalveen Chand
Saturday, February 08, 2014

A FATHER and daughter charged with possession of illicit drugs told the High Court in Suva that another person living with them had brought the drugs.

Josese Rakuita and Litia Rakuita informed the court as they made their bail application before Justice Janaka Bandara.

It is alleged that the two were found in possession of almost a kilogram of amphetamine.

While making the bail application, defence lawyer for the two, David Toganivalu said both accused denied possessing the drug in their caution interview.

Mr Toganivalu alleged that Mr Rakuita's brother's son, who was living with them, had brought the drugs into their home.

The case will be called again on February 28.
