Update:2:05PM THE Fiji Museum has officially opened its doors to the public today for those interested in viewing some 70 handmade Japanese dolls.

The dolls were shipped into the country earlier this week by the Japanese Government and the Japan Foundation with the hope of generating a greater interest in Japanese culture.

The dolls are part of a global exhibition which began in Japan, came through New Zealand and is now in Fiji.

They will be in Fiji until March 8 when they will be sent to Denmark as part of the exhibition.
