Police probe drowning of Malake man

Update: 11:36AM TRADEGY struck yesterday off the Island of Malake, Ra, with the drowning of a 32-year-old villager.

This brings to eight the number of drowning related deaths, the same number recorded at this time last year.

"Dead is Osea Qata,32, of Malake Village who was alleged to have drowned while spearfishing with 8 other men from the village 5km out at sea," said Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri.

Inspector Sokomuri says police are now investigating the case because of the circumstances surrounding it.
