Four shortlisted for job

FIJI does not exactly need a career-oriented person to be the new commissioner of police.

Prime Minister's permanent secretary, Colonel Pio Tikoduadua, said four people, including expatriates from abroad, had been short-listed for the job.

"We received a number of applications but they've been short-listed to four.

"The process is going through and we are now interviewing the four. We are looking for someone who is innovative.

"It's not exactly a career-oriented person but someone who can take the force into future bearing in mind the national needs and making the force professional as it is known to be," he said.
