Plan launched

Saturday, February 01, 2014

THE Ministry for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation has launched its annual corporate plan.

Minister Dr Jiko Luveni said the plan was a guideline to ensure efficient delivery of the ministry's services.

The minister said the plan also provided the ministry with directions to address the needs of the society.

"Policy guidelines within the ministry for all programs are an advancement that I wish to encourage," she said.

"These are tools to guide the workforce in the respective services delivered within.

"Without these internally-prescribed guidelines, compliance will become an issue and quality of service will be compromised."

Dr Luveni said the obstacles to delivery of designed key performance indicators should be carefully determined and addressed so the results could be realistically measured this year.
