Update: 9:52AM ALL schools in the Western Division remain closed today.

This was confirmed by divisional education officer West Lorima Voravora.

He said the Ministry of Education had sent out a directive for all institutions to remain closed as an extra precautionary measure.

"We have a zero tolerance on the loss of life," said Mr Voravora.

"We don't want to lose any student or teacher during this time. Even though the weather is starting clear up, we will not take any risks."

Twenty schools are used as evacuation centres.
