Floodwaters enter settlement

Update: 4:40PM FIVE families of Nakoba Settlement in Galoa are contemplating their livelihoods after floodwaters entered their homes a little after midday today.

Children and women were seen sheltering on top of their beds, while the men are trying to save their belongings as the water level continues to rise.

Vijay Narayan, 64, said he was having lunch with his family when floodwater entered their home.

"We can't move anywhere now because this is our home and we are expecting the water level to rise when the tide comes in at 6pm," Mr Narayan said.
