Ba river close to critical level

Update: 12:12PM THE BA River is close to reaching its critical level, says District Officer Alivereti Abenasiga.

"The river was at 2.35m at 10am and the critical level is 3m and we are urging people living near the river to take the necessary precautions," he said.

Roads closed to all traffic are Marinatawa, Balevuto, Toge, Varadoli and Navala.

Mr Abenasiga says the river is expected to burst its banks at 6pm when the high tide would be at its peak.
