Jersey boost for club

THE Daku Rugby Club from Tailevu has received a major boost in preparation for the new season.

The club was presented a new set of jerseys, the ones worn by Super Rugby franchise ACT Brumbies.

The side will be the face of the Canberra-based Brumbies team in the Tailevu Rugby Union club competition this season.

Club president Aisea Tuituvou said they were overwhelmed when the jerseys were presented to them.

"We are so thankful to Daiana for giving us these jerseys," he said.

"Daiana works for the Brumbies and usually she donates such outfits. It's totally new and it's a huge boost to the boys as we gear up for the new season."

Daku was relegated to the Senior-B grade two years ago.

Tuituvou said Daiana's assistance had prompted the players to strive for better results.

"The boys are already training now. We still have no idea when the club competition will start but we have done our part — that is to prepare and we're looking forward to the new season."

He added the officials would soon receive their T-shirts.
