Suspect in remand

Shalveen Chand
Thursday, January 30, 2014

A MAN alleged to have been involved in the burglary and theft of a safe from the Inkk booth at the Suva market has been remanded.

Isoa Valu, 37, faces charges of aggravated burglary and theft.

Defence counsel Samanunu Vaniqi told the court her client was making an application for bail.

The police prosecution told the court an accomplice was still being interrogated and Mr Valu's release would interfere with the investigation.

Mr Valu was remanded and the case has been transferred to the High Court for first call on February 7.
