Suspect in custody

A 34-YEAR-OLD man on the run from the authorities as the prime suspect in the alleged murder of widow Hamida of Nakavu settlement in Nadi has been arrested.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the suspect was arrested at Wailoaloa yesterday morning.

He had been evading authorities since Tuesday afternoon.

Ms Naisoro confirmed the suspect spent the night in jail while investigations into the alleged murder continue.

She said the police have yet to lay charges.

The lifeless body of the 50-year-old was discovered by her 20-year-old son.
