Mariners warned of strong wind, rough seas

Update: 7:48AM MARINERS are being asked to refrain from venturing unnecessarily to sea.

The Fiji Meteorological Service issued a warning at 5.30am of rough to very rough seas with northeasterly winds of 25 to 30 knots, gusting to 50 knots with moderate northerly swells.

Poor visibility should be expected in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
