Weather alert: Prepare for flooding

Update: 7:05AM PEOPLE living near the banks of the Nadi River are urged to prepare for flooding after a warning was issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service at 4.30am today.

A flood alert is now in force for low lying areas of Nadi Town and downstream of the Votualevu station.

An active trough of low pressure remains over Fiji and another trough to the west of the country is gradually moving towards the group.

Associated rain and strong winds are expected to affect the group until tomorrow afternoon.
