Heavy downpour closes roads

Update: 6:45PM SEVENTEEN roads are closed to traffic as a result of heavy downpour today.

In a situation report released this afternoon, the Fiji Roads Authority confirmed all closed roads are in the Western Division.

FRA revealed six roads are closed in Nadi, three in Sigatoka, seven in Lautoka and Vaivai Road in Ba.

Closed roads include Arolevu Rd, Chunilal Rd, Savalau Rd, Namulomulo Vill. Rd, Naren Singh Rd, Waloko Rd in Nadi. 

In Sigatoka, the  Varealobo Crossing along Valley Road, Matewale and Kavanagasau Rd are closed to traffic.

While in Lautoka, the Saru Back Road, Vuda Back Road, Vaivai Rd, Navula, Buabua, Saru Loop Rd and Vakabuli Paipai Rd are also closed.

FRA would wait for water to recede before preliminary inspections could be carried out.
