THE Ministry of Health will continue to monitor health facilities to ensure efficient and effective health services are delivered to the public.

The ministry's assurance follows a complaint against a nurse who allegedly used toilet paper to dress the wound of a patient at the Valelevu Health Centre.

Ministry spokeswoman Evlyn Mani said an investigation confirmed the item used to dress the patient's wound was cellulose — a type of medical dressing. She added cellulose was used because there were no lint and gauze supplies available at the health centre at that time.
