Water safety skills are vital for all

DAWN GIBSON
Thursday, January 23, 2014

Update: 10:30AM WITH five drowning cases already recorded this year, people are reminded of the importance of learning about water safety.

Research indicates that the more people know about water safety at a young age, the less chances they have of being drowning victims later in life.

"It is important for all years to learn water safety messages and be involved in lifesaving activities," said Water Safety Council of Fiji steering committee member Bronwyn Soko.

For this same period last year, Fiji recorded six drowning cases, the police department confirmed yesterday.
