Saturday, January 18, 2014

NATIONAL under-20 soccer coach Ravinesh Kumar will monitor the performance of his players who feature in the National League competition.

With the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna 2014 National Football League starting this weekend, Kumar has revealed the names of the 25 players who'll be required to return to camp tomorrow.

The players were selected from the two-week camp that ended last week where Kumar said the players responded very well during training sessions.

"Some top names in the squad are Jale Dreloa, Kolinio Sivoki, Pranil Naidu, Narendra Rao, Setareki Hughes, Iosefo Verevou, Samuela Nabenia and Antonio Tuivuna," he said.

"These players were part of the last U20 squad except for Iosefo Verevou and Jale (Dreloa), our last captain, who are still in the squad."

"Their attitude towards training was exceptionally good and I like the commitment shown by the players, especially Dreloa, Hughes and others."

Kumar said that at next week's camp, the players would go through various training sessions which he designed to develop the players in all aspects of football.

"These players will also play National League games with their own districts and with us too.

"We will be monitoring them during the games and see how they react with senior teams and senior players."
