New council chairman

THE late Kalevu Ratu Sakiusa Makutu gave his unconditional support to Ratu Waka Vosailagi to assume the chairmanship of the Nadroga/Navosa Provincial Council before he passed away last year.

A statement from Na Hina Limited said Ratu Waka and Ratu Sakiusa had closely consulted with each other on the issue.

"As a close relative, Ratu Waka personally consulted the late Kalevu, Ratu Sakiusa Makutu to seek his endorsement and support," the statement said.

Ratu Waka is the first cousin of the late Kalevu from the chiefly family of Werelevu, Nakuruvarua.
