Search for escapee

AUTHORITIES are searching for an inmate who escaped during a work party outside the Vaturekuka Corrections Facility in Labasa this week.

On the run is 21-year-old David Solomone who is originally from Tamala settlement in Savusavu.

Fiji Corrections Services public relations officer Kuini Waqaisavou confirmed the incident happened at 11.45am on Tuesday.

Ms Waqaisavou said Solomone was serving a sentence of 18 months and 30 days for the offence of burglary and theft.

Members of the public with any information on Solomone have been urged to contact the corrections command centre on 3309 695, 9905078 or 9905543.
