Free birth registration

Update: 3:16PM BIRTH registrations in Fiji are now free for the next two months.

This followed the recent announcement by the government to waive the late registration fee of $11.50 for the next two months.

In a press conference in Suva today, Attorney General Aiyaz- Sayed Khaiyum said the amnesty which commenced today will end on the March 14.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said last year alone it was established that 9075 Fijians did not register.
