Movement gives food

HARE Krishna followers have shown their love and care for the community by distributing food to the people of Savusavu.

The distribution of food is an activity carried out by the group every year.

Organiser Sanjay Lal said they dished out about 900 plates of food on Saturday.

"We were out in town in the morning distributing food packs to people," said Mr Lal.

"Our groups were based in different spots in town because we wanted to make sure to share the food with everyone.

"We also moved around town distributing food to everybody we met."

Mr Lal said the group also moved to residential areas near the town.

"Visiting squatter settlements and other nearby residential areas was covered by our group as we made sure everyone was given food.

"It is a way of showing our love and care for the community. Feeding the poor and helping the disadvantaged in the community is part of our faith."
