Police nab driver

THE police have arrested the driver of the vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Labasa.

They have also identified the victim of the accident who is admitted in hospital.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the driver was a 22-year-old, who lived in Nakama, Savusavu, who was arrested on Sunday night.

She said the vehicle was also impounded.

The victim is a 42-year-old farmer of Vunivau in Labasa.

"He is currently admitted at the Labasa Hospital in critical condition," Ms Naisoro said.

The victim was hit on Saturday night while walking on the road near the FSC mill.
