Top contender falls at open

TOP emerging snooker player Shahil Prasad lost in what was the upset of the day at the Coastal Rental Sigatoka Open tournament yesterday.

Prasad lost to Shalvin Kumar 1-2 at the Sigatoka Club.

However, some other top contenders remain on track in the two-day tournament.

Yogen Prasad defeated Navin Dutt 2-1, Vineel Nand overcame Sunny Narayan 2-0 while Rahil Prasad beat Mukesh Chetty 2-1 in the preliminary rounds.

The pre-quarters play was in progress when this edition went to press last night.
